Rustic, Romantic, and a Little Wild: Justin & Baylor’s Farmstead Love Story
There’s something downright magical about photographing couples in settings that tell a story. Baylor and Justin? Their love story could give those rom-coms a run for their money. This after-wedding styled shoot was set against the most picture-perfect backdrop—a stunning farm just outside of San Antonio, Texas—where they currently call home.
Baylor happens to be the daughter of my dear friend Trish, who I met over 10 years ago in Hawaii (island life, anyone?). I captured their family photos way back when, so fast forward to now, and getting to be part of Baylor’s big day felt like a full-circle moment—cue all the feels!
The Dreamy Caretaker’s Cottage
These two lovebirds live in a charming caretaker’s cottage on a dreamy farm just outside of San Antonio. Their daily life? Taking care of adorable animals and soaking up the kind of countryside vibes that make you want to stay forever. When I found out they were living here, I was like, “We HAVE to do a styled shoot. This place is magic!” So, we set up an after-wedding shoot to capture their newlywed glow in the most idyllic setting.
The farm, nestled in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, is the perfect mix of rustic charm and jaw-dropping beauty. Rolling hills, romantic sunsets, and a touch of wild—it’s basically a photographer’s dream come true. Baylor and Justin’s love story paired with this backdrop? Let’s just say, Pinterest-perfect doesn’t even begin to cover it.
A Touch of Whimsy – The Florals by Andrea Milo Bloom
What’s a styled shoot without some show-stopping florals, am I right? Andrea Milo Bloom, a San Antonio floral queen, brought her A-game with a bouquet that was all about whimsy and fun. Baylor’s bouquet was a burst of wildflowers, with pops of color that screamed romance and adventure all at once.
Andrea is known for her unique, out-of-the-box designs, and this bouquet totally delivered. It was the perfect finishing touch to Baylor’s carefree, romantic vibe, adding that extra “wow” factor. If you’re in the San Antonio area and need a florist who gets it, Andrea Milo Bloom is your girl. Seriously, she works magic!
Capturing Love in the Texas Hill Country
One of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer in San Antonio is getting to shoot couples in these stunning, uniquely Texan spots. From rolling hills to charming farms, the Texas Hill Country has no shortage of swoon-worthy backdrops, and this farm was no exception.
But for Justin and Baylor, this farm is more than just a pretty location—it’s home. You can see the love they have not only for each other but for the life they’re building together in every photo. The animals, the cottage, the sunsets—it all came together to tell their story in the most authentic way.
Why After-Wedding Shoots are a Must
If you just got married and want to keep the magic alive a little longer (who wouldn’t?), an after-wedding styled shoot is the way to go. It’s like hitting the refresh button on your wedding day—another chance to dress up, explore a new location, and get those dreamy, creative shots you didn’t have time for on the big day.
For my San Antonio couples, the possibilities are endless. From cozy farms and ranches to historic venues and Hill Country landscapes, we’ve got a little something for everyone. So, if you’re ready to get in front of the camera again, I’m here to capture all that newlywed magic. Let’s make some magic together and capture that just-married glow!
